Perfect for My Needs
Needed a pair for a trip to a tropical locale. Pretty much perfect...only fault...lens cover is a little too loose to be useful.

Used in High Arctic
I purchased the 8X42 Monarchs for my wife to use on a trip to Svalbard in Arctic Norway. Her eyesight is not good and she had problems finding things in our other binoculars - perhaps too powerful. The 8X42 Monarchs worked flawlessly - she was able to enjoy polar bears, walruses and other wildlife at a distance. They maded a significant contribution to the enjoyment of her trip!

i am truly impressed by this product. i have been an avid birder/bird watcher for years. not until i bought the Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 Waterproof Binocular did i realize that i was out in the field with less than adequate binoculars. the clarity is phenomenal. i am able to spot birds quickly with less focusing. i truly recommend this binoculars to anyone interested in wildlife viewing.
