Sophie Thompson, who plays the nervous sister, is a standout (Emma Thompson's sister in real life). Wonderful love story. A sad undertone adds richness.

Beautifully scripted, realistically grittier than other Austen presentations. Donald Sutherland is a favorite here. Weakness is Jena Malone's protrayl of Lidia.
