Quite simply the greatest movie of all time.
Over the top statement? You bet your [...] it is. So is this movie. It takes elements of sci-fi, fantasy, kung fu, and even western movies and mashes them up into the most satisfying concoction. Drink up!

BLU upgrade over DVD is HUGE!!! Awesome transfer of a classic!
I already owned the dvd, but when I heard how good the transfer to BLURAY was, I jumped at the chance to own this classic in HD! Glad I did! The transfer has really great detail because it was not butchered by DNR/EE filtering. Just a clean restore of a good transfer. Audio has a very noticeable upgrade as well. This is how we want our Blu-rays presented, natural grain in tact and very film-like! KUDOS to FOX on job well done!!! A MUST OWN!

It's hard to be objective since this is purely my ALL TIME favorite movie, but I would highly recommend it.

BTLC is one of those movies that puts you in the state of mind that makes you feel like you want to be part of something, something larger than yourself..... I never wanted to be in a rainy alley while foodstuffs were offloaded from trucks more than after having viewed this movie.... Really....

This is NOT a cult classic (although it is)... it is an invaluable look into the cross section between the natural and the extraordinary... and it's a wild ride....

I could go on forever about why this is one of the greatest films of all time, but just watch it...

also, check out the music from this movie.... simply some of the best! John Carpenter should be given a lifetime achievement award for ALL of his triumphs....
