Focusing on a female sports reporter and her posse of best friends--all but one of them male--My Boys takes a fresh approach to the buddy concept. P. J. Franklin (Jordana Spiro, Must Love Dogs) loves sports and likes to use sports analogies in both her newspaper column and when referencing her dismal love life. "I've come to realize that almost everything in dating and relationships has a parallel to sports," she says. "I'm a sportswriter for the Chicago Sun-Times. I cover the Cubs." At times it appears that her dating streak will be as dismal as the Cubs' attempts to win the World Series. But the most important relationship is the one she shares with her friends. Dressed down to look as much like a tomboyish print reporter as possible, Spiro has a freshly scrubbed appeal that makes her attractive to men without being threatening to women. The cast of Friends had their coffee shop as the place to meet. The My Boys gang has P.J.'s apartment, where they regularly gather for poker nights and gabfests. Yes, the boys are gabbers, whether they're talking about their confusing relationships, unfufilling careers or sports in general. Like the protagonist in Sex and the City, P. J. has a penchant for talking directly to the camera. Though it grows old at times, Spiro is likable enough that we forgive the tired conceit. The affable cast includes comic Jim Gaffigan as P.J.'s befuddled older brother Andy and Kellee Stewart as Stephanie, who definitely isn't one of the boys. Johnny Galecki (Roseanne) is so good in his three guest appearances as a deliciously annoying neighbor that it'd be a shame if the writers didn't bring him back in the second season. The DVD set includes all 22 episodes, which originally aired during 2006-2007. There's a nice little cliffhanger involving P.J., a trip to Italy, and the man who travels with her. Could this be her newest boy? --Jae-Ha Kim

Great new series
A must have for those looking for a comical true to life story. A tomboy personality girl named Pj tries to keep both a social life and at the same time hang out with her four close friends and older brother. The only guide to her feminine side is her friend Stephanie who is more girl than the norm. The first season trails through with Pj just trying to find a man who can adapt to her unusual environment of close friends.
You wont regret the purchase, I still watch this non stop to this day =)

Fabulous show!
I got to see this show on a weekend marathon at TBS and loved it. I don't get that station where I live because I reside outside the USA, so I hadn't seen it before, but got determined to get it when it came out. Now I am a proud owner of a great show that I hope lasts a long time. I find it funny, entertaining and very relaxing. Oh, and the characters are a good ensamble, each bringing something interesting to the show.
