Made in Austria by the world's most-renowned wineglass maker (Riedel Crystal, founded in 1756), this decanter allows sediment to settle, clarifying any older red wine. Even with a young, sediment-free wine, the decanter makes a beautiful serving vessel by displaying the wine's color. It's machine blown of brilliant 24 percent lead crystal and conforms to Riedel's exacting standards: colorless, transparent, and thin-walled. It holds 37-1/8 ounces, ample for a 750-milliliter bottle of wine, and measures 9 inches high. Its graceful, outwardly curved neck provides a secure grip when pouring. Riedel crystal is used by fine restaurants all over the world and thus must stand up to frequent trips through a dishwasher. Half bottle decantor
Buyer beware! This is being advertised here as easily holding a 750 ml bottle of wine. Yes, it will hold one 750 ml bottle but it is actually intended to be used as a 375 ml, 1/2 bottle personal decantor not a 750 ml bottle decantor (according to Reidel - discovered after receiving the product).

I bought a second one
This decanter handily holds 750 ml (one bottle), but it has the most surface area at 375 ml. So if you are wanting a decanter to get rid of bottle sediment or just to be used as a serving implement, this is great. And cheap, too.

If you want to get the maximum aeration, you'll have to choose a different decanter.

I recently bought a second one, and was interested to see how rose-colored my first one is in comparison to the second one. These are inexpensive, so it is probably worth it to have one that you reserve for whites and one you use for reds. It's very hard to clean the red wine color out, even using a bottle brush.

Good Decanter for the price
This is an excellent decanter - the shape allows for easy handling and it is an excellent value. I have two and would recommend this decanter to anyone requiring a simple decanter.
