Happy with the purchase at a good price
This was my first purchase of a home theater in the box system; came refurbished, but everything looks new. Very easy to set up. I went with this system as I liked the "Tall-Boy" speakers instead of going through the hassle of doing any wall mounts and to allow for reconfiguration should my room layout ever change. The two rear surround speakers are wireless in the sense that they connect into an amplifier which is itself wireless. Still learning how to use everything, but the first movie watched on the system was "The Dark Knight" -- plenty of effects to pull out the true surround feature and I can say that was what I was hearing out of those rear speakers. The price was right (about $265, w/ an extra $35 spent on a HDMI cable at Walmart) -- there are probably better systems out there which are more costly, but this one suits my purposes just fine and as a father of two small children, I certainly don't need to be sound-blowing out my windows or anything like that.
Wireless? Not Exactly.
I bought this system to replace another system I wanted to move to another room. You can never have too much surround, I always say.
My major problems with this system are as follows;
It is NOT WIRELESS!
It comes with a box that you have to plug into the wall, then you mount the rears onto the stands (nice stands)[optional] via the WIRE that runs from the "wireless" box, wherever you choose to put it.
You CANNOT mont the speakers away from wires, it simply can't be done.
The Mains (L,R) and Center are connected to the system via a chincy thin wire that (and this brings me to my second complaint) CA NOT be swapped out for better guage wire.
Thay have those silly plastic things on the end that plug into the color coded slots, and so you're pretty much stuck with that supplied wire.
I've replaced the wire for the rears, installing 16 Guage Monster wire, and they sound great, are easy to adjust, etc.
The subwoofer is impressive, considering it's passive and the crap wire on it can not be swapped out either.
I watched BlackHawk Down to test it, and was impressed considering the price.
Surround is clear and pronounced, even in Aux mode for the TV Cable Dolby Pro Logic II.
Overall sound is warm, rich and well balanced, but inputs are lacking in anything besides Component Video Out, Optical IN, and an Aux for the TV or whatever.
The iPod dock (built in very nicely) is pretty cool, but WILL NOT PLAY PICTURES OR VIDEO! At least on iTouch, I have not yet tested compatibility with classic, or nano's.
Other than that, setup is easy, and even my dear old mum could set this thing up, if I hadn't shot her while she slept so many years ago.
Enjoy!

This was a refurbished product. I had some trouble figuring out the set up because the instructions were poor -- but one phone call to Panasonic and I was fine. Great unit for the price!
