Stay informed and keep safe by knowing the weather in advance for those beach outings, camping trips and days in the garden, with Oregon Scientific's wireless weather station. Weather icons depicting rain, snow, sun, and clouds display 12- and 24-hour weather forecasts. The integrated clock automatically sets itself to the U.S. Atomic Clock and never needs adjusting for Daylight Saving Time. Bold digits on the unit's LCD screen display indoor and outdoor temperatures and humidity. The barometer shows pressure as rising, steady or falling to indicate where the weather is heading. A moon-phase indicator makes for safer days at the beach or on the open water. And, a crescendo alarm with snooze function eases sleepers into the day. Plus, the unit's thermometer and humidity gauges team up to feed data to the Heat Index mechanism for monitoring comfort levels-a great feature when heat stroke is a fear. High- and low-temperature and humidity alarms warn when conditions aren't right in the baby's room, greenhouse, wine cellar or music room. No more frozen pipes during that cold snap, this stylish weather station is equipped with an ice-alert feature that warns when temperatures have dropped low enough to freeze things up. The included wireless, remote sensor also has an LCD screen that displays humidity and temperature. The main console can receive signals from up to 3 sensors (additional sensors sold separately). The temperature range capacity of the sensor that comes with this station is -22F to 140 degrees F.

Who needs the weather channel?!
We purchased this unit for my father-in-law. The design is stylish and functions are easy to set up (with help from the manual) The atomic clock takes a while to set (at least 8 hrs)- which tried our patience during setup. When side by side to our unit (different model but both Oregon Scientific)the weather prediction appears more accurate than ours (pressure difference by 5 millibars - which is enough difference to trigger one unit to show partly cloudy and the other to show rain)
OK so far
After going through 6 LaCrosse units that failed in a year or two I thought I would try Oregon Scientific instead. Oregon Scientific appears to be put together better than the LaCrosse weather stations. Brass threaded inserts instead of self tapping screws for example. It's not apparent from the photo Amazon uses, but the battery compartment serves as part of the stand to keep the unit upright. This prevents you from mounting it on a wall. It's a good design as long as you want to place it on a table. I was hoping to hang it on a wall, though. The forcast feature is useless in Los Angeles near the coast. So was the LaCrosse, and I didn't expect it to be useful. I bought two of these. The first came in white as I expected, the second was silver, but I really don't mind if it is silver. The LCD display on the remote transmitting units is handy to have. Accuracy of all the non professional weather stations is lacking. +/- 2 degrees Fahrenheit is typical of all these stations. The two Oregon Scientific units I got seem to be slightly more accurate than the LaCrosse units that I have had in the past. This might be just dumb luck.
Absolutely unreal forcasting! Super Easy to Use!!!
I am very skeptical of products and their so called quality but this Atomic Clock/Weather Forecaster is just phenomenal! I tracked day by day and it was 7 for 7 and being in Chicago and the ever changing weather, it kept up! Very happy with this product. Took a while for the atomic clock to set but it did! Very Impressive!
