Product Description

Best friends and business partners, two remarkable women share their secrets to starting and succeeding in your own business

Part inspiring business story and part insider’s how-to, You Buy the Peanut Butter, I’ll Get the Bread shares the lessons two best friends learned while making their business dreams come true. The co-founders of Noelle-Elaine Media, Inc.—a New York City–based event management, media relations, video and technical production firm with many notable corporate and celebrity clients—Kirsten and Renée give aspiring small-business starters the real deal on what it takes to succeed and endure, both professionally and personally.

With refreshing honesty and sisterly counsel, they offer an up-close look at the daily highs and lows of starting, managing, and maintaining a business in the midst of developing and losing friendships, dating, falling in and out of love, and getting married—as well as the particular challenges women business owners face. Despite some peanut butter sandwich dinners, Kirsten and Renée made it happen, and their story will empower entrepreneurs everywhere that they can too.

Customer Reviews

Essential book in this economy!5
This is a great book - for women or for anybody thinking about starting a business. Lots of fun, interesting stories, plus some really helpful lessons and ideas. Makes me think twice about launching something on my own, versus having a partner like one of these two women to get my back. All in all, a must read for anybody thinking about a start-up, especially in a down economy.

A must read before going into business with a friend.5
This book is a must read for anyone THINKING about going into business with a friend. It isn't a book that tells about all of the glamour and riches of business. It is a book that details the ups and downs and celebrates successes and the true meaning of friendship. Many people say you can't go into business with a friend, this book debunks that myth. You can go into business with a friend, you just have to have the right tools, mindset and determination to want to succeed.

Great food for thought5
This book gives some great food for thought when looking to start a new business venture. Especially with a best friend or loved one. It gives you and idea of the good and the bad and the ugly and it does not water down the fact that it's hard work no matter what. I realize they are two of the lucky ones since not all partners have such a successful venture but perhaps it can offer the reader an idea of "why" they are two of the lucky ones.
