Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly
Though ABC radio host Openshaw avoids these specific terms, the "winning steps" she touts in her first book are simply networking and entrepreneurship; Openshaw prefers to call this "tapping your LifeNet." Using a number of anecdotes about relatively unknown entrepreneurs, as well as stories about Bill Gates, Nike's Phil Knight and Warren Buffett, Openshaw shows how tapping into your LifeNet-through such actions as "redefining your Comfort Zone" and using your "Home Zone" for advice and support-will allow you to get past your fears, figure out what you want to do and build wealth accordingly. She also uses the results of two original surveys canvassing more than 3,000 high net-worth Americans. Unfortunately, the results hold very few surprises, and don't do much to support Openshaw's points: nearly two thirds of the millionaires surveyed say that their wealth derived largely from stocks and other investments; over half say real estate investments are key; and 30 percent say they inherited a significant sum; these are means to wealth that Openshaw's book barely addresses. In a crowded field, Openshaw's approach and original research fail to reach any novel conclusions.

Great step-by-step guide5
This book is a guide to creating wealth, and the author takes you step-by-step through the process of discovering and taking advantage of the resources you already have at hand. Learning to use everything and everyone you already know is a much less intimidating (and more practical) approach than "going it alone" -- the author points out that many people fail to achieve their personal and financial goals because of their fear of leaving their comfort zone. The book includes strategies for people who want to start their own business as well as those who want to move up in their job. It also includes some great tips on maintaining your network and testing and creating demand for your product.

Pretty repetitive book over a single concept: Network!!!2
Reading this book could only help you but I found it very repetitive and lacking in real substance. The author emphasizes relying on your network to increase the chances of your success. And that's pretty much it. It's a very important concept that I agree with but as an entire book, it's a yawner.

Building up to seven figures......5
I thought this book was going to be like other financial self help books - but it was much more practical. I really liked the focus on finding a strategy that works for me - based on my interests, my risk profile, and the amount of money I have available. And it really made a lot of sense to tap into the people I know for help. The book gives really helpful ideas of how to do that. It was really easy to read.. the author has an engaging style. Overall, I'd recommend this book.
