poorly constructed, non-user friendly, and generally more hassle than it's worth
Most people are going to buy this for the fingernail profile tool, since those of us with the expendable income to purchase an item like this are probably turning bowls. (As opposed to "real" stuff, like table legs.) A correctly ground fingernail profile, like the espresso "god shot," is definitely a hit or miss endeavor that may cause premature hair loss. BUT, a jig will make it easy, right? Not so fast. First of all, the knobs that hold the jig fixtures in place will hit your grinder when you adjust them unless you put about 6 inches of wood underneath your grinder first. After doing so, the regular grinding platform fixture is too far away from the wheel to be of any use. But hey, you can still use the fingernail jig, right? Yea, well, mine was so poorly put together that it held my gouges at a slanted angle, producing a slanted fingernail grind. Hard to explain, but fwiw, I purchased the wolverine fixture and it works perfectly. So that's why it gets two stars. You can use the wolverine fingernail fixture with it. So it's not a complete waste, I guess.

Good enough at the price.
I've used the PSI sharpening system for over a year now and can find little fault with it. The base for your 6 inch grinder was unexpected. It has to be built for the sharpener to work properly, but it has to be an inch or two high to align the grinding wheel center properly with the chisel face.. six inches is way too much. The other thing I did was buy a fine grit wheel for my $20 dollar grinder. Major difference!!! As with turning, experience is the key to success using this style of sharpener. As I used the jig more and more, the profiles were easier to sharpen, including bowl gouges, roughing gouges, spindle gouges, etc.. The size range of the tools isn't an issue, I sharpen small Jet pen turning tools as easily as my large set of Delta tools. If you need something more bullet proof, look at the Tormek or Jet systems. They cost a bundle more but they are fixtured to be more precise. All in all, I'm satisfied with the PSI sharpener and I saved $50 dollars to buy more wood to turn with my sharp chisels and gouges.
