About the Actor
Alison Hurwitz has been dancing in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1997. A Highly Commended Associate of both the ISTD and DVIDA dance organizations, Alison teaches, studies and performs American Smooth, American Rhythm, International Standard, Ballet, Jazz, Afro-Cuban, Argentine Tango, Lindy Hop, Hustle, Salsa and Dance Aerobics. Alison has performed with such local groups as the Decobelles, Mambo Romero, The Harmony Project Dance Company, DancEvents, Tango Con Fusión and her current partner, Jesús Ortiz. She currently teaches and performs in Daly City, San Francisco, and Oakland.

Alison has been seen on Evening Magazine and Channel 5 news, and featured in the San Francisco Chronicle. She has instructed on cruises, at dance camps, and coached performance teams. Alison s instructional DVDs include Dance Vision s professional accreditation DVD, as well as Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba and Swing, available from DanceCrazy.com. Loved it!
This dvd is rather pricey but definately worth it. I take salsa lessons but we don't do much of styling because it's an hour class with men and women. More than anything they focus on couple routines. They expect us to style but I didn't know how. This video helped me tons! I've watched it twice and I want to watch it again and again and again. She is extremely detailed that there's no way you won't get it. This video has beginner and intermediate/advanced routines. I'm not advanced but she is such a great teacher that you won't feel intimidated to try the routines on the next level. Definately a must have!

Great Instructor
This is an excellent DVD. I highly reccomemded for anyone wanting to learn salsa dance footsteps. The instructor is not showing of, her voice is clear and she demonstrates a true intention to teach what she knows. I have been dancing salsa for some time but could not get the footwork. My work and the location I live makes it impossible to find a good salsa dance school let alone a good instructor or partner. After purchasing several videos that were not helpful I was a little concerned about this one but my desire to learn was stronger than my concern so I purchased it and I am glad I did. I have seen the footwork demonstrated on the video at the club numerous times. A partner is not necessary for this video even though having a partner makes learning to dance salsa that much easier. With patience and practice anyone can get it. The instructions are clear and she demonstrates the steps from the front and the back. She gives helpful hints, motivation and plenty of practice. I do recommend that the person who buys this DVD learns the basic step in order to follow her a little bit easier but if you don't that will not be a problem either since it will just take a bit longer to grasp the footwork concept and like I said before patience and practice is necessary. Now, I wish she had another DVD with additional footwork since I already learned this one. The DVD is not perfect though. A mirror for a background would have been a plus and the menu could use some improvement. Overall, I highly reccomended and I have trully enjoyed it.

Cuban Style Techniques
I really enjoyed this DVD. She is good in demonstrating from every angle the movements and steps. However, I must say it is pretty short. There are only 3 Intermediate and 3 Advanced steps that she demonstrates on this DVD. Not good enough for the $36 i paid. Anyhow, she has a TIPS section that I really enjoyed on every step. This is mostly Cuban Style Salsa.
