![]() | All Your Summer Songs by Saturday Looks Good to Me
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $3.88 Fred Thomas is as good a songwriter as they get. Totally sixties sounding, with modern lyrics, and lots of friends lending voices. SLGTM takes a little effort, but this is the most easily digestible album. It rips at the ole heart strings like no other album can.

![]() | We Are the Pipettes by The Pipettes
Buy new: $29.98 / Used from: $3.29 I'll admit that I have an unhealthy obsession with Gwenno, whose voice and sexiness are simply unparalled. The British version of this album is simply amazing, whereas the U.S. version is over produced.

![]() | Every Night by Saturday Looks Good to Me
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $0.77 Nearly as good as All Your Summer songs. The LP has different versions of the songs with different people.
|
![]() | Hold on Now, Youngster... by Los Campesinos!
Buy new: $14.98 / Used from: $10.00 Powerpop meets Pavement, this album is great! Love the girl/boy vocal exchanges, lyrics, and everything else! Must use explanation points to describe! I like this album more than the second one, which is probably better but less twee. It would have made list but I couldn't find it.

![]() | The Great Unwanted by Lucky Soul
Buy new: $32.99 / Used from: $27.45 Their singer can flat out belt it, and her voice reminds me of Nina from the Cardigans. Sophisticated pop that smacks you in the face. Just saw them in NY, and the new songs are superb, hopefully they will make it big.

![]() | Sound on Sound by Saturday Looks Good to Me
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $5.28 30 songs from various EP's and whatnot. It is a little hit or miss, but when it hits, it hits hard. Best songs in my opinion are Hiding, Can't Ever Sleep, and the version of Lift Me Up. The lo-fi sound just adds to the retro feel. At 9 hours and 800 songs, it's a little overwhelming (really 30 songs).

![]() | Electric Version by The New Pornographers
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $4.99 It's hard to obey the speed limit when listening to this masterpiece.
|
![]() | Twin Cinema by The New Pornographers
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $2.23 If it weren't for the horrible Dan Bejar songs, this album would be perfect.
|
![]() | Mass Romantic by The New Pornographers
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $2.84 Debut from the tNP's is another masterpiece, Carl Newman can do no wrong.
|
![]() | The Slow Wonder by A.C. Newman
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $3.50 Like a more-guitar driven Neko-Case-less New Pornographers album.
|
![]() | Fill Up the Room by Saturday Looks Good to Me
Buy new: $14.98 / Used from: $2.50 Probably the most aquired taste of any album on the list. Absolutely love Hands in the Snow, and Money in the Afterlife. Less twee than the previous albums.
|
![]() | Let's Get Out of This Country by Camera Obscura
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $7.87 Another great girl-group/Spector inspired UK band. Probably better than the Pipettes.
|
![]() | Challengers by The New Pornographers
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $4.33 The songs are still as well-written as on any NP album (except of course the garbage Dan Bejar songs). Just not sugary enough to be a favorite of mine, though I really love the following songs: Mutiny, I Promise You; Challengers; Failsafe; and Go Places
|
![]() | Mars Loves Venus by The Brunettes
Buy new: $37.99 / Used from: $9.48 Clever, snarky, and dark-haired, what more do you want? Their tour de force in my opinion. Requires immediate teeth brushing.
|
![]() | Bottoms of Barrels by Tilly and the Wall
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $4.99 What is better than a band with a tapdancer instead of drummer?
|
![]() | Vampire Weekend by Vampire Weekend
Buy new: $12.99 / Used from: $7.98 When I got the album and listened to the first two songs I thought it was going to be the best album ever, but unfortunately the first two songs are far better than the rest of album, which is good, but nothing that special.
|
![]() | In Ghost Colours by Cut Copy
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $5.50 Only real electro/dance pop album that I have really liked; their concert was superb, and the album is great too. Modern day New Order?
|
![]() | I Was Raised on Matthew Mark Luke & Laura
Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $5.13 More epic and sugary than other start-stop guitar-pop bands (i.e., The Foutainheads, Field Music.) The songs are long and complex, to varying degrees of sucess.
|
![]() | Long Gone Before Daylight by The Cardigans
Buy new: $9.98 / Used from: $3.88 While not as good as their first three albums, in my sugar-pop loving opinion, this more subtle, dark, and accoustic album is still amazing. Shows the raw talent and range of one of the best bands ever. Much better than Gran Turismo or 95 percent of Super Extra Gravity
|
![]() | The Life Pursuit by Belle & Sebastian
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $3.93 Best B&S ablum since Isobel left.
|
![]() | Night Falls Over Kortedala by Jens Lekman
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $7.44 Really great songs and lyrics. Production leaves much to be desired.
|
![]() | El Perro del Mar by El Perro del Mar
Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $2.42 Simple, unique, and sugary. Like a more Spector-touched Au Revoir Simone.
