From the Back Cover
Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul is the compelling account of one man's inner quest. It is a unique and fascinating case study that documents the author’s unusual experiences in his early life that culminates in his eventual discovery of a mystery school. Dr.Vasey provides an honest assessment of his ongoing development as a student of the school, his discovery of 'Asteroth', an inner contact, and progressive exposure to a magical and boundless world of inner characters and landscapes that provide personal instruction and understanding. His journey of transformation has a profound effect on his character and finally directs him towards an initiation with the self.

"Dr. Vasey's Inner Journeys is an honest and straightforward memoir of one man's voyage into a deeper understanding of himself and the many worlds around him. His modern perspective on the ancient practices of mediation and contact with the higher self is at times frightening, sometimes touching, but always enlightening. Vasey understands the individual nature of spirituality and the voyage that we're all on to discover our own place in the universe". - Jeff Belanger, author of Communicating with the dead and founder of Ghostvillage.com

For those beginning any spiritual course, read this before you start. It pulls no punches, it tells you frankly that you will find it often tedious and boring, but you will also find it at other times uplifting and exhilarating". Dolores Ashcroft-Nowicki, author of many best selling occult books and Director of Studies of the Servants of the Light.

Customer Reviews

valuable first-hand view of esoteric training5
In Inner Journeys, Dr Vasey offers a first-hand account of what is involved in beginning (and continuing) to study the mysteries. In relating the relevant bits of his own life story and the first several years of his formal occult training, he discusses the day-to-day process of training, the reasons why he (and many others) began training and how that training has affected his life, both inner and outer. Though this not a how-to book, he does give a couple of exercises for the reader and descriptions of important skills like visualization and meditation.

For a not-yet-beginner like myself, this book makes a valuable contribution to the decision of whether and when to undertake esoteric training. It also provides a list of recommended reading and links to several organizations offering training, should the reader choose to go farther.

A Rare and Honest Look5
I found Dr. Vasey's book to be unique not only in content, but in the blend of serious information combined with just the right amount of humor to make it both informative and a really enjoyable read.

Inner Journeys speaks to many levels of experience, which is a rare find. The beginner will find much of interest and value in it purely as a description of practice and process, and the more experienced practitioner will also find interesting perspectives that speak to the deeper levels of personal work. Vasey is open and honest, sharing his journey in ways that reflect back to the reader insights one can only really get from sharing of another's personal journey.

It isn't often I enjoy a book as much as I did this one, and it helped me see quite a few things in a new light on my own path as well. That's a rare gift, as we all know! It's also the kind of book I think I'll be able to come back to in a few years time and find yet more in it. Definitely get it if you haven't already! I think I'm going to have to get a second `loaner copy' as well.

Personal and Touching5
An honest and open look at the world behind the veil. Rarely will an occult author offer up something that doesn't leave the reader feeling confused and completely inadequate. This story gives a sense of warmth that made me feel like I was spending an evening with an old friend rather than reading a book. I was impressed with the amount of emotion the author was able to draw out; the ride induced moments of awe, tinges of excitement and feelings of total clarity. I highly recommend this book to the occultist and non-occultist alike. It gives a meaningful glimpse into the mindset of those working the Secret Knowledge and shows how these practices are neither dark nor evil.
