Amazon.com Product Description
When your outdoor activities span several hours, look to the Camelbak Classic hydration pack. The versatile pack, which is easy to fill thanks to the externally accessible 2.1-liter Omega reservoir, features a low-profile design that's stable enough for any challenge without interfering with bike helmets and other accessories. As a result, you can take this pack on day hikes, mountain bike rides, cross-country ski trips, and just about anywhere else.
The Classic also boasts such essentials as a comfortable and breathable soft mesh harness, a secure Bungee cinch system that holds extra clothing, an external zip pocket for your keys and other valuables, and reflective details that help you stay visible in low-light conditions. As a final bonus, the Omega reservoir is well insulated-- helping keep your liquids chilled for hours--and is backed by a lifetime warranty. The pack itself, meanwhile, carries a two-year warranty.
About CamelBak
CamelBak is the originator and world leader in hands-free hydration systems. The first CamelBak products proved to be very popular among mountain bikers and motocross riders, because it allowed them to drink without taking their hands off of the handlebars in technical terrain. The product began to cross over into other sports when scientific studies showed athletes drank more fluids and performed better when they wore a CamelBak. Since then, athletes from an ever-growing list of sports and activities use CamelBak hydration systems for their convenience and performance benefits.
In addition to cycling, CamelBak has Hands-Free Hydration systems for hiking, running, snowboarding and skiing. CamelBak’s state-of-the-art packs and hydration systems have benefited athletes, outdoorsmen, and soldiers around the world. While CamelBak has grown tremendously since the early days, one thing hasn't changed: CamelBak still believes in the performance advantage that proper hydration delivers for just about any activity. The privately-held company is headquartered in Petaluma, California.

Great Pack for Female Runners Too
Amazon lists this pack for men, but the truth is it works for EVERYBODY. It doesn't say male or female on the label. You don't have to be a guy (or even be built like one) to enjoy the benefits of the Classic Camelbak. I gave in and bought one after having trouble finding decent reviews for women's versions (I tried one on in the store before coming back to Amazon). All of the straps are very adjustable (the chest strap can be lowered a lot or pulled or off), and they feel very smooth (no sharp edges) for nylon. It has a zippered pocket that has enough room for a car key, 2-3 gels, and a small cell phone. If you add cold water, it insulates it and keeps it cold til the very end. So far I've taken my Classic on a few 4-16 mile runs with me (including a 10-miler on a 90-degree day), and I am happy with it.
There's only two things I'd really change:
1) The straps get looser the longer you run (as you drink) so it continually has to be tightened during long runs. It seems like adding some sort of bungie/elastic in the straps may help.
2) It needs a key clip in the pocket. The CamelBak Catalyst has this kind of function, and it really makes life easier as I don't worry about losing my car key while reaching in for a gel.
Other than that, I am *very* pleased with this pack. I heartily recommend this pack for both male and female runners.
Great for running
This is the perfect source of water for those runs that demand hydration. It fits securely and weighs around 5 pounds when full of water, so it is not too noticeable. I honestly cannot think of any complaints... I highly recommend this if for nothing else than it is not a fanny pack water holder!
Camelbak Classic Hydration Pack
This item is exactly as advertised, light weight, easy to fill and use and easily cleaned especially if you purchase the optional cleaning kit. Even if you don't buy the cleaning kit, if you follow the cleaning instructions you can keep it fairly clean. I use it for yard work and outdoor sports and would recomend it to anyone looking for a inexpensive, yet durable hydration pack. It keeps the water cool for an extended period of time except for the water in the tube, which is no big deal
