![]() | Nikon 7072 Lens Pen Cleaning System
Buy new: $10.13 Useful & easy to carry. Uses non-liquid compound that almost never wears out. I've used mine (non-nikon branded original LensPen) for a few years on my Lenses, glasses and even rifle scopes & electronic sights!

![]() | BLACKRAPID RS-1 Camera Sling Strap
Very comfortable, easy to use strap with quick-release attachment. The unobtrusive design allows the heaviest of cameras to hang on your back without much swing, places the grip optinally for quick reach-overs, and puts the viewfinder at eye-level without the fuss conventional straps are plagued with. Works great with tripods & camera bags as it leaves nothing dangling from camera when detached.

Buy new: $24.46 / Used from: $23.50 For the money, this easy to follow DVD is a damned good companion to any book or website you've checked out on the subject, direct from two of the industry's top professionals. Almost 2.5 hours of real-world how-to's.

![]() | The Photographer's Eye: Composition and Design for Better Digital Photos by Michael Freeman
Buy new: $19.77 / Used from: $15.99 Simply awesome book for concepts & inspiration. Not necessarily a 'how-to-do' book, rather it takes more of a 'how-to-think and why' approach - very well written. Highly recommended.

![]() | Tamron Autofocus 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) for Nikon DSLR Cameras
Buy new: $459.89 You really can't go wrong with this lens. It's sharp, quick, light and an inexpensive alternative to the Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 pro midrange. This lens feels nice and has smooth focus & zoom controls. AF speed is OK, not too slow. Spot-on AF accuracy. One of the best price/performance midrange zoom lens in it's competition if you're not a full-time, paid pro. It's on my camera 85% of the time..
|
![]() | Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Nikkor Wide Angle Zoom Lens
Buy new: $1,799.95 Deadly, ninja-blade sharp across the zoom range, awesome contrast and evil-fast AF under any light conditions. I can't afford it just yet (I'm using the cheaper, lighter & very capable Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 for now), but I've played with one and I want it to have my children... it's really that awesome as an everyday midrange zoom.

![]() | Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Buy new: $124.95 / Used from: $104.95 Cheap, fast & sharp. The only reason you shouldn't own one of these for your full-frame is if you own the faster f/1.4 versions (either AF-D or newer AF-S G, both of which are also listed here)
|
![]() | Nikon 50mm f/1.4D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Buy new: $324.95 / Used from: $295.00 See notes for 50mm f/1.8 D above.
Very useful for any outfit. Great for low-light & night shots.

![]() | Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Buy new: Too low to display / Used from: $449.00 This Sigma 50mm 1.4 is said to be even sharper than it's Nikon competition. Many users seem to love it, so there's no reason why you wouldn't enjoy one too!
|
![]() | Tamron AF 90mm f/2.8 Di SP A/M 1:1 Macro Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Buy new: $499.00 / Used from: $369.95 Between this 90mm & Nikon 105mm, theyre the best macros of the bunch. Either one will serve you well. For half the price you lose what some consider non-essentials for Macros: VR, internal focusing and a little AF speed on Nikons offering. A phenomenally sharp lens. At 15mm less than the 105, this Tamron puts you right at the sweet spot for portrait photography! Basically 2 lenses in 1!
|
![]() | Nikon 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor Lens
Buy new: $889.95 / Used from: $799.00 One of my favorite lenses. The extra cash gets you: VR, better contrast, lightning-fast AF, tank-like build quality (& weight), internal focusing & a quick AF to MF override by turning the focus knob. One note is to be careful with this lens as the front element isn't nearly as protected as in the Tamron. Use the lens hood when possible & a protective filter to avoid damage.
|
![]() | Nikon 85mm f/1.4D AF Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Buy new: $1,229.95 / Used from: $1,000.00 This little lens makes magic happen... and wallets just suddenly disappear. Jolly good show, chap!
THE DeFacto portait standard.

![]() | Tamron AF 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD IF Macro Lens with Built in Motor for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras

|
![]() | Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Buy new: $1,999.99 / Used from: $1,699.99 If you can afford one, it can become quite a workhorse & offers quicker AF focusing, less chromatic abberation, Vibration Reduction, clutchless manual focus override and multiple Focus locks not availabe in the competition from Sigma or Tamron. (Not to mention it's almost 2-3x as expensive!)
|
![]() | Nikon SB-600 Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Buy new: $218.00 / Used from: $190.00 Killer flash at a great price. Does most of what the other flashes do on & off camera if you're looking to get into Flash Photography inexpensively but with plenty of options for growth. One of the best bangs for the buck next to the fully manual SB-25. No commander mode to control other flashes if being used as a main flash, but can easily be set as a slave strobe.
|
![]() | Nikon SB-800 AF Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Buy new: $899.95 / Used from: $399.00 Now officially discontinued, it's still one of the top flashes Nikon makes. For this reason, it's still sought after above even the newer SB-900 series flash. Top-notch flash if you can find it at a good price.
|
![]() | Nikon SB-900 AF Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Buy new: $469.95 / Used from: $449.00 The price and size of this guys scares away many folks and makes small children cry. Other than that it's Nikon's best and possibly easiest to use flash ever. Is it worth it? Yup!
