Autobiography of a Yogi : Includes Bonus CDAutobiography of a Yogi : Includes Bonus CD by Paramahansa Yogananda
Buy new: $9.00 / Used from: $6.79
Excellent. Gives you great insight into what yoga is supposed to look like.
Vedanta: Voice of FreedomVedanta: Voice of Freedom
Buy new: $19.95 / Used from: $16.95
I experienced nirvikalpa samadhi for the first time after reading this. Great insight into the philosophy of the Absolute.
Conversations with God : An Uncommon Dialogue (Book 1)Conversations with God : An Uncommon Dialogue (Book 1) by Neale Donald Walsch
Buy new: $16.29 / Used from: $0.92
A good clarification of some issues. The first book will do - the other CWG books are mostly repetition and variations on the theme. I recommend it to the people troubled by false religious concepts.
Nine Princes in AmberNine Princes in Amber by Roger Zelazny
Buy used from: $17.95
The Amber series? Oh yes. Highly recommended. Initiation into Pattern/Logrus is the best description of the yogic initiation I have ever read.
The Lord of the RingsThe Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien
Buy new: $40.95 / Used from: $40.00
The LOTR trilogy - this, and the beginning of the Silmarillion, gives you the best available insight into the nature of evil. Also highly recommended.
Stranger in a Strange LandStranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $0.11
I couldn't believe something like this was actually written; it is an image of a yogic mind, and a layout of a yogic world. An absolute must.
