The new book is the cat's meow. Pamela Bauer Mueller and Kiska have written the p-u-r-r-fect book! -- Marisa Babic - Staff Reporter, Now Community Newspaper

There are few things that happen in a household that get past the family pet who watches and knows all. -- The Brunswick News, April 2001

From the Inside Flap
In this sequel to “The Bumpedy Road,” Kiska moves far away from her homeland in Mexico. In her first book she wrote about following her family to the United States. In this book she will accompany them on their next move to Canada. Her beloved Miss Cassandra and Miss Ticiana have grown into lovely young adults with lives of their own. Kiska now begins a new facet of her life and adds new pieces to her own puzzle.

One of the advantages of writing is becoming someone else: climbing inside someone else’s skin and heart. By imaging part of myself into a cat I can enable Kiska to imagine part of herself into a human. That’s where our magical relationship begins, and that is how we can communicate to author a book.

In “Rain City Cats” Kiska discovers that her needs have changed as she copes with new beginnings. Armed with curiosity and resolve, she searches for her niche in British Columbia. In this, her Canadian story, she entertains, educates and touches us once again. Kiska articulates the things that we have all felt, but she speaks with feline wisdom and clarity. Her understanding of the human character is amusing, poignant, and endearing as she narrates the struggles and riches of her life. Once again, I am honored to be her spokesperson.

Customer Reviews

Excellent Insight!5
In my 76 years I have had many cats and as one cat lover to another, I certainly enjoyed your insight into the inner workings of a cat's mind.

Kiska's Voice5
Pamela Bauer Mueller understands cats better than anyone I know of. I read the book in two sittings and thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved Kiska's first book, "The Bumpedy Road," which made me cry with pleasure! This second part of the trilogy has a little more cat philosophy, which we can all benefit from. I like the quotes at the end of some of the chapters, too. I wonder what actress could do Kiska's voice for a "books on tape" version? Just a fun thought.

Wonderful Books5
I have just completed reading the Kiska Trilogy. A must for every cat lover, child through to adult. The last book (Rain City Cats) made me cry. I loved the insights into the cat world and even find now that I talk to my 3 cats a little differently - I tell them more things! Thank you Pamela for some wonderful reading, I look forward to completing your other books.
