Product Description

In this award-winning story, a puppy takes ill must be taken to the hospital for treatment. Celebrated author H. E. Stewart writes with wonderful sensitivity about the fears sometimes associated with new experiences - particularly when faced with an illness or going to the hospital. Told in reassuring tones, children will experience the hospital visit from the puppy's perspective: new smells, sleeping in an unfamiliar place, the process of dianosis and more. The story makes a wonderful point about the importance of a community in the recovery process: doctors, nurses, friends and family all working together for a united purpose. Beautiful illustrations, also by Stewart, evoke a certain nostalgia of childhood, trust and protection.
