About the Author
Susan Lederer, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Chair in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Adelphi University, NY. She is a state licensed and nationally certified speech-language pathologist with 25 years of professional experience in the areas of speech, language, and emergent literacy development and disorders. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, as well as the NYS and Long Island associations.
She and her Adelphi colleagues and students have been conducting and researching programs for late-talking toddlers and preschoolers at risk of reading failure. Efficacy and descriptions of these programs have been published in peer reviewed journals and presented nationally.

A book to grow on
I am a university professor specializing in child language development and disorders. I wrote I CAN SAY THAT (and I CAN DO THAT) to help children learn to talk. Children love the repetition and are motivated to "read along." For preschoolers, the book has built in early literacy skills to help your child begin to read. Buy it for your own child or as a gift. I am confident it will inspire chidren to learn to talk and read!!!
