How Do I Stand in Your Shoes
This is a cute book and a good way to discuss empathy with children. As an elementary school counselor I used this book with Kindergarteners and found that it was a little too complex for them to understand. I think it's more appropriate for 1st or 2nd grade.
Not enough mention about "empathy"
Although the book is all about empathy, I was disappointed that it didn't mention "empathy" more often. I used it to work with a group of students needing help with improving their social skills, and the book's illustrations are big, graphic and can be complicated and distracting. Although the pictures are for 1-3rd grade, the tone and message is not easily understood and is better suited for 4-6th graders. Just my thoughts.
Character Education - Feelings
This book is a great add-on for every character education program in elementary school.
