I bought this toy on sale thinking it was going to be four times the fun for my large neutered male cat. I hung it up on a door knob shaking it and pulling on the dangling toys to make them spring to get his attention. He would not play with it at all. I left it there for a month and he never touched it. It also slips off the door knob if you try to help your cats play with it. I don't know if it would do that when your cat was playing with it since I could not get him to play with it. We got another cat, a neutered female who also showed no interest in the toy. Our third cat, another neutered female has shown minimal interest. It's now hanging from our bed post and if I shake the toys at her when she's in a playful mood and on top of the bed, she'll attack them but only if I initiate the toy and keep playing with her. And she doesn't get anywhere near as excited as she does with her other toys. If I stop playing with it she loses interest and many times she will only play with it a couple of minutes with me before losing interest. I think for the any price this toy is a waste of money. I think there are better cat toys out there.

My cat loves it!
My cat loves this thing. You can hang it on the doorknob, and he'll bat at it. You can pick it up and play with him with it- the long blue strings are stretchy like a bungee cord, so he likes to pull on them. If you lay it on the ground, he still loves it.

I am worried that he will be able to rip the ribbons off and then he'll eat them, but he's tugged and tugged on this thing and nothing has come off yet!

Worth it for the "lures"
Within a day of hanging this toy, my cat pulled the octopus off of its rope (the "lures" are detachable) and it became her instant favorite toy. I have never seen a cat so obsessed with a toy, and she will fetch it and bring it back over and over again. I have never given her treats to train her to do this, and she won't do it with other toys. She likes the other toys on the door hanger decently enough, but the toy overall has been worth it because of the octopus, which is very enticing for cats because of its ribbon tentacles and squishy body. Both of my cats did play with the hanger although I agree with the other reviewer that it falls off doorknobs easily. Still, I believe they have gotten more fun out of this toy than most others I have bought that are often more expensive. I think it's a great price for what you get. I'm buying it again just so that I can get a replacement octopus (my cat finally lost it) and I will give the hanger with other lures to my parents for their cats. I would recommend this toy if you can get it with no shipping cost.
