TERRIFIC BOOK
I recently (8 months ago) went through the breakup from hell (we've all been there). This book gives practical, down to earth and sensible suggestions about how to move through the pain and anger, stop obsessing and move on.
The most helpful suggestion for me was to write down on paper a list of every hurtful thing my ex said, every situation in which he embarrassed me or caused me pain. I put that list by the telephone. And I made a deal with myself: I could call him any time I wanted "just to say hi", but first I had to relive everything on that list - FULLY relive it and feel it and think about it and immerse myself in it. After that list was placed by the telephone, I never made another one of those why-the-heck-did-I-call-him calls again.
I highly recommend this book to anyone with a broken heart who doesn't want to remain broken-hearted.
how to stop the insanity
wonderful book- I first read it about 10 years ago. I like this particular book so much because it gives very practical steps to help a person 'get over someone'. It doesn't get into why and how (that is for therapy), but as the book points out, if you are overwhelmed everytime you see anyhting that reminds you of this person and you are CONSTANTLY thinking about them how can you get over them? You won't. Again, great book, easy to read, step by step cookbook behavior modification techniques.
This Book Saved my Sanity
I was desperately in love with someone who could not love me back, and I was losing my mind. This book gave me simple, practical ways to let go of that painful love and get my life back. It worked for me and I am thankful!
