Product Description

INTEGRATED COST REDUCTION is a vital resource for CEOs, executives and other business practitioners who know that continuous cost reduction is at the center of any successful enterprise. Written in an accessible style with non-technical explanations of what cost is and how to use this innovative process that has been PROVEN at Fortune 100 companies to reduce costs by an average of 10-25%.

An enterprise-wide process, INTEGRATED COST REDUCTION (ICR) has already produced remarkable results in over 300 engagements for products from $25 connectors to $1M aircraft engines.

CEOs and senior executives will learn how to generate the cost reductions required to meet margin objectives, without the public-relations or business continuity risks of outsourcing, e-Auctions or off-shoring. Supply chain professionals will be introduced to a proven process that builds on work already done in most companies, but that is rarely managed by one strategic concept.

Integrating the 5 core tools of ICR; Lean Manufacturing; Design-to-Cost; Six Sigma; Supply Chain Management; and eProcurement, INTEGRATED COST REDUCTION delivers cost reductions that exceed any single approach. With an appendix that includes actual success-studies taken from over 300 INTEGRATED COST REDUCTION implementations, readers get a bird's eye view of both the process and the results made possible by this innovative strategy.

Customer Reviews

A 21st century approach to a 100yr old problem5
I found the approach to cost reduction to be far beyond a simple "puchasing" tactic. The authors proposed a 21st century approach that brings the entire enterprise together (engineering, manufacturing, finance, supply chain) in a systematic approach to achieving cost savings. Our company has struggled with global sourcing and outsourcing and this book provides the first alternative that still gets the required cost reduction, but allows us to keep our existing supply base and manufacturing in the US.

A Good Reference Book5
I enjoyed reading this book. My work involves costing and seeking ways to cut costs across various departments. The book explains in a very logical, practical and straightforward way how costs can be cut without adversely affecting the operations of the organisation.

This is an excellent reference book that is understandable to both accounting and non-accounting managers. I refer the book often in cost accounting situations as the concepts are very useful and practical.

This is recommended reading for senior executives that have the responsibility for the prosperity of their organisations.
