About the Author
Author Melissa DeSica's illustrations have previously appeared in "Wordsworth Dances the Waltz," also from Watermark Publishing, and the "Shark Stories" books; she created the cover illustrations for "Shark Stories" at age 14. DeSica has received several awards for her writing and artwork, including the University of Hawaii's Clark Award, John Young Scholarship Award, Jean Charlot Foundation Scholarship Award, and The Honolulu Advertiser's Fine Art Award. Raised by her grandmother, along with 16 foster siblings, she is a graduate of Kailua High School and the University of Hawaii.

Beautiful
The illustrations in this book are so vibrant and beautiful. It is also really fun to read and I should have bought two because my kids fight over the one I bought. They love the story of the Gecko and Mosquito. This will be our Christmas gifts to everyone we know!!
