Not for a 9-year-old
I'd read a review for Crazy Contraptions that suggested buying additional large blocks, wheels, etc. When my 9-year-old saw the large blocks, he laughed and informed me they were for babies. They'll make a nice gift for the neighbor's baby when he gets older.
