Customer Reviews
Very White and Bright - Recommended over stock H4 Bulbs
These bulbs are SAE and DOT rated, 60W/55W standard wattage, so you won't get pulled over by the police for using off color or higher wattage bulbs, or burn your wiring by using higher wattage bulbs. The produce a very clean white (4000°K) light and are very bright compared to regular headlights. Comparing these to the 4000°K Sylvania SilverStar bulbs which I had before, these are whiter and brighter, which surprised me. If you are looking for a true white light, you need to stick below 4100°K in color, else you start to get into the blue and purple colors. These seem to be exactly what I was looking for. I gave them 4 stars because I don't know how long these will last. Most H4 bulbs are easy to swap out requiring no tools and about 5 minutes of your time.
Got Light??
After recently purchasing a new motorcycle, I like to be seen. So I purchased these PIAA bulbs and wow, what a differance they make. Although they are claimed to be legal in all states, these babies really light up the night.
Now if they last a while, I'll be completely happy with them. Some other brands seem to wear out quickly. PIAA has the best name in automotive lighting. But right now, I am completely happy with them. I ride during the day with my brights on and use the dims at night. But when I own the road by myself and switch on the high-beams, the night turns into day. You can see it all. I don't think many hazards will be able to jump out in front of me without me seeing them first. And that in its self is worth everything to me.
They were a little more expensive, but as far as I'm concerned, worth every penney. Still a really good deal.

PIAA 15224 H4 Style Xtreme White 12V 60/55=110/100-Watt Bulb - Twin Pack
I have used PIAA bulbs for many years in my motorcycles and truck. If you do a lot of night driving on unlit streets or country roads these bulbs will give you more, whiter light to see with. They average between 2-4 years of life. I have seen 1-3 years of life on motorcycles depending on type of bike. Sportbikes with firm suspensions and short wheelbases will see less life due to vibration and road shock. This upgrade is less expensive and less work than converting to HID lights. There are a lot of bulbs out there that offer more light at a cheaper price but you really need to look how much actual wattage those bulbs use. I have seen the cheap, high watt bulbs melt wiring harnesses, electrical connectors and switches on cars and motorcycles. Anything over 80 watts actual usage I would stay away from unless you are planning to add relays and additional heavy gauge wiring and connectors.
