Amazon.com Product Description
Stylishly minimalist, this Movado Fiero men's watch is a perfect day-in/day-out timepiece, easily moving from professional to casual couture and back again. The watch case is made of tungsten carbide one of the hardest, most scratch-resistant materials currently used in jewelry--which has a gunmetal coloring--and the bracelet band mixes tungsten carbide and black rubber links. Its tall, rectangular case with gently barrel-shaped, Tonneau-style sides measures 33mm (1.3 inches). The deep black dial face includes a single polished cabochon gemstone at 12 o'clock and two silver sword-shaped hands. Powered by a precise Swiss quartz movement, it also features a highly scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and water resistance to 30 meters (99 feet)--enabling it to withstand splashes and accidental dunks into the water, but not suitable for swimming.
About Movado Since its founding in 1881 by 19-year-old entrepreneur Achille Ditisheim in the village of La Chaux-de-faunds, Switzerland, Movado has lived up to the meaning of its name--translated as "always in motion" in the international language of Esperanto. It's created some of the world's most famous timepieces, including the 1912 Polyplan (which was constructed on three planes to fit a case curved to follow the wrist), the Kingmatic series of rotor-driven automatic watches, and the Museum Watch--created by American designer Nathan George Horwitt in 1947.
Defined by a single dot at 12 o'clock representing the sun at high noon, The Museum Watch's uncluttered dial is regarded as an icon of Modernism. In 1960, it was the first watch dial ever selected to be part of New York's Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection. Movado later teamed up with designers and artists such as Andy Warhol to create one-of-a-kind limited edition watches, which reside in museums, galleries, and collections today.
The Movado Story
The art of Movado is the art of design. Since its founding in 1881 by 19-year old entrepreneur Achille Ditesheim in the village of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Movado has achieved a legacy of design innovation, earning more than 100 patents and 200 international awards for artistry and innovation in watch design and time technology.
Movado, meaning "always in motion" in the international language of Esperanto, is the hallmark of some of the most famous timepieces ever created: the 1912 Polyplan, its revolutionary, patented movement constructed on three planes to fit a case curved to follow the wrist…the WWI Soldier’s Watch with its elegant, protective grill…the 1927 Ermeto, a capsule-shaped pocket watch wound by the sliding motion of its case…the innovative 1950’s Kingmatic series of rotor-driven automatics…the Movado Artist’s Series by luminaries of the fine art world…and the Movado Museum® Watch with its legendary dial.
Defined by a single dot at 12 representing the sun at high noon, the Museum Watch dial is regarded as an icon of Modernism. It was designed by Bauhaus-influenced artist Nathan George Horwitt in 1947. When Horwitt’s dial was selected for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 1960, it was the first watch dial ever awarded this distinction. The name "Museum Watch" derives from this recognition. Today, Movado watches are in prominent museums worldwide, and this legendary dial distinguishes an entire collection of singular timepieces.

Not your Daddy's Movado
Metal sections are Tungsten Carbide(scratchless) and Black ones are some sort of metal hybrid. Best part is the black links DO NOT suffer from fingerprinting or the normal "oil" smudging you get with black metals. Understated yet extremely elegant and I now longer feel like my watch is going to catch a thief's eye from across the street like i do with my Valor....
I LOVE THIS THING!!!!!
(Note: Did not purchase it online)
Movado Fiero two-tone watch
This for me is a beautiful watch. The body and bracelet is made from Tungsten Carbide - one of the hardest substances known and used for the cutting faces of machine tools. So its hard! It wont scratch in a hurry -though be warned it may scratch other things. The TC is a bit darker than stainless steel - think polished gun metal - so its very distinctive. The black interior links in the bracelet are covered in a very dark hard matt rubber. The face is classic Movado - plain and elegant. This is a watch that looks as good with a suit as it does with jeans. I bought this watch from the UK (Movado is virtually unknown in UK) and even with import duty and VAT etc it was almost half price compared to the sole UK dealer (Harrods!) However you do NOT get a manufacturers warranty. Amazon provide quite a limited warranty that covers the movement only. This is a big issue and something Amazon should be more explicit about on the site. For me I am still delighted as my watch is fine and half price. If I had a problem and Amazon were still selling at this price (and ex rate was stable!) I could buy a replacement watch and almost still be no worse off than a UK purchase...but thats for me and remember Movado is rare in UK. For others you need to weigh up the saving v the warranty (oh and remember you will have to pay a jeweller to adjust the bracelet upon receipt). Love my watch though and excellent service direct from Amazon.com
