Invicta Men's Specialty Ocean Ghost Automatic Watch #4731
This watch is huge and beautiful. I'm keeping it although some things aren't as advertised. The watch is not automatic. The 12 hour dial is not for the stop watch as one would assume. One other thing, the watch doesn't say Swiss made.
Badly overrated watch
I fell for the cheap price and huge discount, and should've known better that no quality watch is going to be sold at 89% off, for $159. The watch is beautiful and huge, much bigger and thicker than I thought, and thats fine. But...
1) The second hand logic is wierd: the big one is not the one that moves normally, its the tiny second hand in the left. The big one moves only when you use the chronograph feature.
2) The clasp needs to be resized unless you are huge yourself (or a olympic level bodybuilder). At least two pieces should come off to fit me better and I'm 6"6' myself!
3) The chronograph buttons are bad, they feel shaky and cheap. Like someone mentioned, they could be stuck.
4) The really unfunny part: the minute hand is so loose that if you shake your hand a bit, it could jump 10 minutes forward or backward!
5) And the last, but not the least: it does not keep time, it falls behind 10 minutes every 15 to 30 minutes, USELESS! Probably has something to do with item 4, but nonetheless, these are something that is NOT supposed to be in watch packaged with pricetag of $1495,00!
This watch is a beautiful, but completely useless...
I Love Invicta Watches....BUT
This is a BIG, beautiful watch. I love the looks of it even though it's one of the biggest watch I have seen. However after living with it for a week, I've noticed some odd things about it...
1. All of my Invicta watches have the word "Invicta" inscribed on the side of the watch. This one doesn't. No biggie, but I thought that was an original Invicta trademark. You can't help but wonder if this is a black market watch.
2. The two side buttons that start, stop and reset the chronograph feels really cheap...like the buttons on a $25 watch. Sometimes the buttons got stuck. Sometimes the chronograph didn't reset to zero and was caught 1/4 of the way there. The second hand would sometimes hang up and get stuck at the 3 o'clock position. This should not happen on a watch that lists for [...].
3. The smaller hour hand that is on the clock face shows the same hour as the larger hour hand on the watch. Why the duplication? I think a major design error happened in the factory and too many watches got stuck with this flaw. Maybe as a result, that is why this watch was sold so cheaply. Other mechanical Invictas show the smaller hour hand at a different hour than the large hour hand on the face. Having two hands showing the same hour on a watch does not make any sense.
4. The wrist clasp is usually thin [...]. Again, this feels just cheap.
Overall there are alot of flaws with this watch and maybe that is why it was sold at [...]. It looks great and seems to be fine if all you need is the time of day. However, I wanted all the features of the watch to work and that is why I returned it. I just hope Invicta corrects these flaws in the next production run. This watch is truely a beauty. Too bad.
