Buy new: $23.04 / Used from: $16.32 I'm not usually a fan of the Western genre but I could not put this one down.
|
![]() | The Accidental Tourist: A Novel (Ballantine Reader's Circle) by Anne Tyler
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $0.25 Author hit this one out of the proverbial ballpark with her depiction of an overly quirky, and somewhat dysfunctional, family.

![]() | The Prince of Tides: A Novel by Pat Conroy
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $2.83 Do yourself a favor and read this wonderful book. So much better than the movie.

![]() | Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Buy new: $18.48 / Used from: $4.70 Southern fiction doesn't get much better than this. Overlook the harsh and highly politically incorrect references about African Americans and revel in Ms. Mitchell's amazing storyline.

![]() | Pride and Prejudice (Bantam Classics) by Jane Austen
Buy new: $4.95 / Used from: $0.01 OK, I admit it. I'm an Austen fan. To me, this is her most entertaining novel. Don't be frightened away because it's a "classic".
|
![]() | Garden of Eden by Ernest Hemingway
Buy new: $10.55 / Used from: $2.27 This book is remarkable in that it is such a departure from the large majority of his other fiction. It's quite seamless so don't be hesitant to give it a try due to it's status as an incomplete novel--or completed after author's death.

![]() | The Bark of the Dogwood: A Tour of Southern Homes and Gardens by Jackson Tippett McCrae
Buy used from: $4.99 Although the book is somewhat disturbing in parts, it is definitely worth it. This one is close to the top of my list of great southern fiction.
|
![]() | Answered Prayers: The Unfinished Novel by Truman Capote
Buy new: $10.40 / Used from: $1.73 Although I was late to "the party", Mr. C is one of my all time favorites. I'm not sure this book will ever outlive its scandalous reputation from the 70s; however, taken on its own merits, it's terrific fiction.
|
![]() | Dancer from the Dance: A Novel by Andrew Holleran
Buy new: $9.36 / Used from: $4.45 Considered one of the greats of gay fiction. Parts of it may seem a bit dated but, overall, is still highly relevant. Sutherland is one of my all time favorite literary characters.
|
![]() | The Thirteenth Tale: A Novel by Diane Setterfield
Buy new: $10.88 / Used from: $1.00 One of my favorite fiction genres is books about books, writers, bookstores, etc. This is undoubtedly one of the best.
