Volume 2 of 2, there is no finer printing of Arthur Conan Doyle's "Sherlock Holmes" novels. Simply a must-have.

Atmospheric and elegantly written page-turner, in which the capable Marian Holcombe matches wits with the villainous Count Fosco.

First in the excellent Erast Fandorin series, but in my opinion The Winter Queen isn't as good as the follow-ups. Akunin seems to get better and better as he goes, but you've got to read this still-thrilling opening novel before moving on to the rest.

Third in the Erast Fandorin series; even though it was released second in the U.S. Change-of-pace for Akunin, as if the author wanted to pay tribute to Agatha Christie. The intrepid Fandorin isn't as front-and-center as he is in the other stories, but it's a great read nonetheless.

Fifth in the Erast Fandorin series. Two novellas are included: the first is a rousing yarn involving con artists, and the second is a "what if?" about Jack The Ripper in Russia.

First in the Sister Pelagia series. Big switch for Akunin, but once you get into Sister Pelagia you'll be hooked. Three books total in the series.

1st in the series. I absolutely loved this tale, and what I most enjoyed was its resurrection of the biggest "character" of all, Oscar Wilde, whose larger-than-life personality fairly jumps off the pages.

My favorite and perhaps the best of the Jack the Ripper histories.
