![]() | The White Tiger: A Novel (Man Booker Prize) by Aravind Adiga
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $5.46 Somewhat synical view of life in India but probably full of more truth than most books about the country.
![]() | Your Heart Belongs to Me by Dean Koontz
Buy new: $17.82 / Used from: $0.01 This was better than I thought it would be. The focus was on the sublte subtext in reading and in life.
![]() | Daemon by Daniel Suarez
Buy new: $17.79 / Used from: $4.49 Computer thriller. Kinda like that movie Eagle Eye in some respects. Computer talk and technology is pretty realistic. The author did good research. The ending was a little unexpected.
![]() | Contagious by Scott Sigler
Buy new: $16.47 / Used from: $6.00 What a great sequel to Infected. Very different feel to this book then the previous, but all of the same suspence and gross outs. I liked it alot.
![]() | The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
Buy new: $10.52 / Used from: $7.98 Another great story by Gaiman. The life of a live boy who is raised by ghosts in a grave yard. Each chapter is a mini story in itself but they all tie together in the end. Great read.
![]() | The Host: A Novel by Stephenie Meyer
Buy new: $11.55 Yes, I finally read a Stephenie Meyer book. This was good. I enjoyed the story even though it took me a little while to get into it. I guess I was expecting something different. The middle was a bit slow but the last third of the book was GREAT.
![]() | Terminal Freeze by Lincoln Child
Buy new: $16.47 / Used from: $1.50 Not bad, but not great. Kinda like Relic `light` but in snow. Two dimensional characters. Predictable and simple plot. It is obvious who gets eaten.
![]() | Muse of Fire by Dan Simmons
Buy new: $23.10 / Used from: $22.52 A mix of Far-out SciFi and Simmons take on the works of Shakespeare. Interesting combination. The ending did not make sense to me.
![]() | The Associate by John Grisham
Buy new: $18.45 / Used from: $0.01 This is one of the better Grisham novels I have read in a while. You really get pulled into the world of the main character. It is also made abundently clear how miserable it is go be a first year associate at a large corporate law firm. No thanks! Regardless I enjoyed reading this.
![]() | Beat the Reaper: A Novel by Josh Bazell
Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $3.50 Wow, This was really great. Like Scrubs meets the Sapranos. Dark and twisted at times but it was always interesting. The only down side was I feel the ending was wraped up way to quickly and the final confrontaion was way too far fetched.
![]() | Maximum Ride: The Final Warning (Maximum Ride: The Protectors) by James Patterson
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $1.99 I knew going into this that it was not a strong offerning and that is what I got. I wanted to make sure to read this though before the new book, Max. The story line was weak, the message was preachy and the bad guys were just too weird. Hopfully the next entry will be better.
![]() | Gil's All Fright Diner by A. Lee Martinez
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.40 Fun little book with vampires, werewolves, ghosts and the like. Off beat and a lot of fun to read. Good climactic ending and a cute love story in there too.
![]() | You Suck: A Love Story by Christopher Moore
Buy new: $10.04 / Used from: $4.16 Ah, who needs Twilight when you have this. Just kidding (to my wife especially). Very cool funny book that was a quick read and enjoyable.
![]() | Bloodsucking Fiends: A Love Story by Christopher Moore
Buy new: $10.08 / Used from: $3.50 I did not realize that "You Suck" was a sequel until I was half way through. So I had to read this one. Really good story. Climactic ending and good flow.
![]() | The Chase by Clive Cussler
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $0.01 Really good book by Clive Cussler, a departure from NUMA stuff and is a stand alone story. Take place in 1906 but the stage was set pretty well. The thing that always bugs me about Cussler is his tendency to over describe everything and slows down the story. Happened a little bit here but still lots of action.
![]() | Practical Demonkeeping by Christopher Moore
Buy new: $12.56 / Used from: $4.91 Moore's first book. Enjoyable with lots of interesting characters and the usual funny wit.
![]() | Monster Island: A Zombie Novel by David Wellington
Buy new: $10.17 / Used from: $3.65 Non-stop action and an interesting twis on the Zombie mythology. What if there was a zombie that could think? I enjoyed this.
![]() | Fool: A Novel by Christopher Moore
Buy new: $17.81 / Used from: $6.35 Witty, Funny and crude. It was a fun read but the story got a little confusing at times. I don't think I am going to go back and read King Lear though.
![]() | The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Vintage) by Stieg Larsson
Buy new: $6.00 / Used from: $3.87 Captivating and hard to put down even though some spots were a little long and drawn out. I don't know if that had to do with tranlation or what. But all in all it was pretty good. I will read the next one.
![]() | Cemetery Dance by Douglas Preston
Buy new: $17.81 / Used from: $6.25 Another Pendergast mystery. This time one well known recurring character meets his end, or does he? Zombies? Animal Sacrifice? This was pretty good entry but I figured it out to soon.
![]() | Max (Maximum Ride, Book 5) by James Patterson
Buy new: $13.59 / Used from: $4.19 Max and the gang are at it again. This was not as bad as final warning but not as great os the original trilogy. They seem to be going all over the place with little purpose or resolution.
![]() | The Secret Speech by Tom Rob Smith
Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $11.39 The continuing story of ex-MGB secret police agent Leo as he tries to keep his family together while his country falls apart and revenge is brewing. Much like Child 44 this is a heart reanching tale that really makes you think. A great read.
![]() | Nation by Terry Pratchett
Buy new: $11.55 / Used from: $4.10 One of Pratchett's non DiskWorld books. Thought provoking story about discovering what you belive and what you have been tought might not be the truth.
![]() | The Alexander Cipher by Will Adams
Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $3.52 This was ok. Some characters were interesting but the plot was week. I belive I have found Alexander's tomb before and in better fasion.
