Greatest HitsGreatest Hits by Sly & the Family Stone
Buy new: $9.97 / Used from: $6.95
Larry Grahamis incredible because he created the slap bass technique... He's pretty inovative.
Sailing the Seas of CheeseSailing the Seas of Cheese by Primus
Buy new: $7.97 / Used from: $3.49
Primus is a weird band for sure, but its that weirdness that makes thm so great. Les Claypool is an insane bassist.
Led Zeppelin IIILed Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $5.49
This is my personal favorite Zeppelin album (although they're all great). John Paul Jones is just as amazing as Jimmy Page is on the guitar.
The Best of Black SabbathThe Best of Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Buy used from: $12.99
Geezer Butler is a great bassist. Listen to N.I.B.'s intro and you'll understand.
The Who Sings My GenerationThe Who Sings My Generation by The Who
Buy new: $8.97 / Used from: $4.98
Entwistle isn't one of my personal favorite bassists, but he still is pretty talented. His bass solo on My Generation is generally considered his greatest moment.
FragileFragile by Yes
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $8.34
Chris Squire is talented, just listen to Roundabout, which has one of my favorite basslines ever.
Blood Sugar Sex MagikBlood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $2.78
Lots of bassists have a certain few songs that are clearly their best work. Flea is just always doing something interesting. Although I suppose you could say RHCP's cover of Higher Ground is his best (even though it's not on this album).
Rage Against the MachineRage Against the Machine by Rage Against the Machine
Buy new: $8.97 / Used from: $3.94
Rage Against The Machine's self-titled debut album is an all around great album, accented by Tim Commerford's bass playing.
