Best CAT toy ever!
I first bought an AKC chipmunk for a feral kitten that I was taming so that she could be adopted. She loved it and played with it even when I wasn't around. I kept finding the toy in different places, so I knew that she was playing with it a lot. Everytime I picked up the toy, the kitten was excited to play with it again; so we had a great way to bond. Within a week or so, the kitten was thoroughly tamed. When she was adopted, she took her favorite toy, the chipmunk, to her new home.

Then I took in a much older feral kitten to tame. He was about 4 months old and was extremely frightened of humans. I bought him this AKC rabbit. The rabbit became a sort of security blanket. He played with it, wrestled with it, and chewed on it. The best part about the toy was that he slept with it, with his arms around it the way a child sleeps with a Teddy bear. The toy allowed me to focus his attention on something he enjoyed instead of on the scary human in the room. While it took Jaunty quite a while longer to tame than younger kittens, I credit the bunny with helping me bring out his snuggly personality. I couldn't part with Jaunty, who is now a year old and still plays with and sleeps with his bunny.

I don't know what it is about the AKC plush toys, but every cat or kitten I give one to is crazy about them. However, for some reason, they all hate the gray squirrel. Cats and kittens that have contact with the squirrel either ignore it or angrily beat it up for a few seconds and then discard it.

Great for small dogs
My terrior/shih-tzu mix has an underbite and has a hard time biting on ropes or tennis balls. He LOVES these small AKC animals. It's just the right size for him to get his mouth around and make it squeak. He likes to throw the animal in the air, catch it and shake it, then make it squeak. I usually find these animals in his dog bed because he brings them to bed and snuggles them.

Still intact
I bought this for our 25lb pug/beagle/rat terrier mix and she still hasn't shredded it to pieces and it has been over a month. Usually stuffed toys I would buy at Target for the same price would only last 24-48 hours so this is a miracle. It is still in great shape...I highly recommend for chewers.
