Product Description

This super soaring disc is hard where you need it and soft where you want it. Our dual density technology allows incredible distance with each toss, and unbelievable softness with each catch. ZOOM has a minty scent and buoyancy that sets it apart from all other toss toys. Although this toy is also built for durability, it's intended for tossing, not chewing. Our Glow-in-the-Dark version offers added night time fun.

Customer Reviews

*Not* recommended; better options available1
*Not* recommended:
1) Poor quality control: central rigid plate is significantly off-center resulting in unstable flight.
2) Poor choice of materials: outer soft plastic is too soft. I suspect it will tear easily (but, frankly I don't ever expect ever to use it again as there are better choices - see below).
3) Poor flight characteristics: just does not fly well or far and excessively heavy.
**I would recommend starting your puppy with the soft, dirt-cheap, nylon fabric "Flippy Floppers" available at WalMart - buy several in bright easily-locatable colors and expect your puppy to chew them up relatively quickly. Considering their price they fly and roll well. (The Kong rubber discs are also acceptable for variety and more durable). When she's ready to graduate to a rigid disc without injury, go for the Hyperflite Jawz. They are the best dog discs I know of: well designed (though I'm not a fan of "fast-back" designs in general), made from an incredibly durable plastic (not a tooth mark yet), they have outstanding flight characteristics (they are even fine as a general tossing disc, though a bit small) and can be thrown a good distance despite their light weight (which is a good for your dog's teeth and jaw safety). Hope this helps.

Stands up to a dedicated frisbee destroyer5
Our German Shepherd is a frisbee junkie, but normal plastic discs usually look like Jed Clampet took his shotgun to them after just one or two short play sessions.

This disc has (so far) survived several weeks of daily toss/catch sessions with our dog and the neighbor's equally toothy lab. The center of the disc is not as durable as the outside portion, and I think the center will eventually fail. Still, if this lasts a couple months, it will be money well spent.

If you're dog is a toy destroyer/heavy chewer, I would not recommend leaving this where your dog can get at it unsupervised, because they will be able to destroy it up if they gnaw on it like a Kong or a bone. It's definitely tough enough to survive catching/carrying during frisbee play, though, which is what is was designed for.

I haven't utilized the glow-in-the-dark feature, but my wife says it works pretty well.

nearly indestructible5
I had purchased this product for my GSD who is TERRIBLY hard on frisbees. The one I bought was orange, looked a little different. If you want a toy that will stand up to a hard mouther, then this brand is great. Doesn't stand up to a chewer, but no toy can except a Kong. He has had this frisbee for nearly three years, and it's still ready to fly everyday. He plays with it daily, and sometimes just carries it around like a security blanket. Definitely worth the money if you have a frisbee freak like mine.
