Booda 7-Inch Small Fry Floppy DiscBooda 7-Inch Small Fry Floppy Disc
Buy new: $12.66
My sheltie's absolute favorite toy- and the one on which he learned to catch. Too bad that Amazon doesn't sell it directly (for the free shipping). Soft and flies pretty well at first. After half a year, ours curved significantly to the left with each throw. After a year, it now DIVES to the left after each throw, making it difficult to throw so that the dog can actually catch it.

Quickly becoming my favorite. Flies extremely well (stable, can throw far, floats in the air as it slows to land), but the material is still soft enough and light enough that my Shelite did not mind catching it on our first outing. A little bigger than the small Soft Bite - a great size for both a small sheltie and a border collie.

Flies extremely well. I don't see why you wouldn't get the glow-in-the-dark version. We just purchased it and our Sheltie has yet to warm up to it- probably since the plastic is so hard. Hopefully he will soon, because it flies so well.

Soft, light and flies very well (very stable in the air and you can throw it a long way). I think it will be very easy to catch. It's a little bit too big for my Sheltie (too thick and too big in diameter), but I'm sure my border collie will love it when she grows up.

More of a fetch toy. The frisbee is heavy and does not float in the air. It certainly is good for a puppy- which, to save the puppy's hips- should not be jumping and twisting in the air to catch frisbees anyway.

A bit larger than ideal - 9.5". I just love glow-in-the-dark frisbees to be able to play in the evening. Will be perfect for our Border Collie after she grows up a little. Will review flight characteristics soon...
Chuckit! Flying Squirrel Small 9-inch (Colors Vary)Chuckit! Flying Squirrel Small 9-inch (Colors Vary)
Buy new: $8.00
Bought this in a local shop. Does not fly straight... More of a fetch toy for us. The corners have heavy rubber ends (ours is glow-in-the-dark) that, while spinning, would knock a dog in the face as he catches it- even if he were able to catch up to the erratic flight. It's a fun toy for a while, but since our Sheltie can't/doesn't catch it, he loses interest after 5 or 10 minutes.

I got the small version, which, had I known how small it would be (4.5 inches), I'd have opted for the medium version. The frisbee has a bone carved on top of the frisbee- probably to help a dog pick it up on a hard surface. The plastic is quite soft and flexible, but it does not fly very well (probably due to a lack of aerodynamics). More of a fetch toy than a throw and catch toy.

I bought the small version of this- good deal if you can get free shipping. It's as soft as the Soft Bite that my sheltie loves so much, but flies terribly. It will still be good for teaching my border collie how to catch and for indoor play (fetching). Just keep in mind, it is not stable in the air (always curves and dives to the ground) and you can not throw it far.

I haven't bought it, but I'm very curious about it after reading wonderful reviews. Too bad it's not sold by Amazon (to get free shipping).
