Product Description

A pregnancy belly cast, sometimes called a belly mask or belly mold, is a plaster cast made of an expecting mom's beautiful pregnant form. Pregnancy is a very special, yet fleeting, time in a woman's life and memories quickly fade. Photos only capture a flat 2-dimensional image, but a pregnancy belly cast captures the exciting transformation a mom undergoes during pregnancy in a full 3 dimensions! A pregnancy belly cast enables a mom to forever remember how she looked during her pregnancy and the special nine months she shared with her growing baby. As one mom aptly put it, "It is a really cool way of capturing your pregnant body. You can show your child later that this is what mom looked like when you were inside!". These prenancy kits have been featured on the national TV talk shows "The View" and "LIVE with Regis & Kelly" & that fabulous pregnancy show on TLC "A Baby Story"! Making a pregnancy belly cast is a fun and easy project using our kit. It takes only about 45 minutes and there is no mixing of messy materials. All you need to provide is a pair of scissors and a basin of water. The casting material used in making a pregnancy belly cast is extra-fast setting premium quality plaster of paris bandage material and it sets in as quick as 2-4 minutes. The whole process really is fail-proof and the end result is a perfect 3D memento of an expecting mom's beautiful pregnant belly! Each of our kits come gift-boxed in our signature 6x6x6 2-piece purple gift box tied with white tulle ribbon. Our kit comes with everything needed to make a belly cast: 4 rolls of 4 inch wide by 5 yard long premium-quality casting material (equivalent to a 4 foot by 5 foot sheet of material), all natural lubricant, non-slip drop cloth, pair of Nitrile (non-latex) gloves, sanding screen & detailed instructions (including pictures): A belly cast is usually made 4-6 weeks before a mom's due date, but you could also make multiple belly casts to capture the miraculous changes in mom's bo

From the Manufacturer
Pregnancy is a special time in a mom's life . . . Our pregnancy belly cast kit enables an expecting mom to create a lasting memory of her pregnancy in minutes that will be treasured for a lifetime. As one mom aptly put it, "It is a really cool way of capturing your pregnant body. You can show your child later that this is what mom looked like when you were inside!" No mixing of messy materials is required; it is as simple as 1-2-3! To make a belly cast, you simply cut the casting material into strips, dip them in water one at a time, apply them to mom's skin in overlapping layers, allow to dry for approximately 10 minutes and then gently remove. All you need to provide is a pair of scissors and a basin of water. Once made, a belly cast can be left as is for a simple, yet elegant look, or it can be decorated in any way imaginable. These pregnancy belly cast kits have been featured on the national TV talk shows "The View" and "LIVE with Regis & Kelly" as well as that fabulous pregnancy show on TLC "A Baby Story"! A belly cast is usually made 4-6 weeks before a mom's due date, but you could also make multiple belly casts to capture the miraculous changes in mom's body.

As the father that actually had to apply this to a pregnant wife, it went much better than I expected. It was pretty straightforward and went on quite well and quickly. I would recommend cutting into smaller strips to make it easier to apply.

While I cannot fully appreciate the beauty and joy of the belly cast my wife is absolutely thrilled and that's all that really matters to me at this point.

fairly easy and beautiful belly cast4
i had casted a friend's belly once before. we used plaster from home depot and thin, soft gauze strips. it didn't work all that well and so i thought i'd give an actual belly cast kit a try. first of all, the fact that the plaster was in the strip rolls was so convenient! just had to dip in water and it was ready to go! didn't use the belly cream that came w/ it b/c altho it's not "organic" vaseline works much better. liked that it included a plastic drop cloth and gloves...that was great! and the rolls of gauze were so abundant! i have enough left over to make another cast!

the reason i gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that i think that the gauze should be a little stiffer. it's stiff when u cut it, but when u dip in water it becomes too limp and there is some work required to try to keep in flat and to keep it from rolling in on itself. i had a friend help me, she dipped the strips and flattened them out and i applied. if she hadn't helped, it would've taken me twice as long. as it was, it took about an hour.

This is a wonderful keepsake to document your pregnancy. I have a belly cast for each of my children. I encourage all women to do this.
