I JUST USE THE HARDDRIVE FOR STORAGE...NOTHING MORE
This works very well for me because I just use it to hold program files and MP3s. I have had no problems and I'm using MS Windows Vista Ultimate. I have not used it to backup an image of my OS drive, because I reformat every 6 months regardless to get all new drivers and programs so my system runs smoother, but for just storage, this thing works for me and is a good price. Plus it looks cool compared to most of the external drives available. Anyone who has had a bad experience with this drive...hmmm, I don't know what to tell you, take it back to where you bought it and get a new one because they do work for storage. If you're trying to backup your drive on it, all I can say is, why are you trying to backup information on a inexpensive external device with known issues of performing that particular function. You're shooting yourself in the foot when you should be aiming higher. Learn to love reformatting your OS drive as I have...don't be scared. Little scaredy cat. Are you 'fraid of reformatting your drive? 'Fraid it wont work no more? Stop downloading viruses and learn to be proactive in your computing experience, backup sensitive information on an external and just do a simple hour long reformat every 4 to 6 months.
