Coin Bite
Some Thoughts
Alright now the reason I gave this effect 4 out of 5 stars Is because this effect is revealed online in a number of places and sometimes when you show somebody this effect they run home and check online for the secret I did this at school and the very next day a kid came running to me saying "You used a fake quarter", this can be somewhat offensive but I am usually able to get away with it by saying "Come on man I used your quarter it was signed there is no way I could have bitten your coin". That usually saves me but sometimes there are tough cookies who just say I switched it so just a thought hope it doesn't stop you from buying the effect.
The Effect 10/10
This effect is absolutely mind blowing. I am not even kidding for those who see this effect will freak. They don't even care that the coin was in your mouth after you spit that bitten piece back on they just want to grab "their" coin immediately and check it out, also if people know you do magic most of them have seen David Blain perform this effect so they will probably ask you if you can do it too and now you can.
Method 9/10
The reason I gave the method 9/10 is because I really hate not ending clean It is just me personally, I seriously would rather have like a metal cutting knife in my mouth then a gimmicked coin because I really hate having things switched and palmed in the other hand it is just me personally especially when performing for tough cookies because you can't put your hands in your pockets because then they will say "you switched the coins the fake one is in your pocket" and if you leave you hands out in the open they say "let me see your hands" but that is just me personally, if you don't want to face that problem then don't perform for tough cookies the reason why I like doing it is because they don't respect my magic and sometimes when I blow them away they do.
Teaching 10/10
Brad goes through every small detail of this effect from the switch, the bite, the restoration, and the return of the coin.
Just a coin bite? No.
First of all, let's get this straight. Even though a coin bite by itself would still be great, this effect is not just that. This is much more, and very much worth the price. The gimmick is so perfectly created and the instructions are good enough.
The Effect (real life situation)
You walk up to someone, borrow a quarter, take it and take a bite out of it, you then spit the bit piece right back onto the quarter.
real life: A couple days ago at lunch at my school, I forgot my lunch. I started to ask my friend if I could have some of his food. He of course said "No". I then said, "What if I ate a quarter"? A couple of kids heard and watched him to see what he would do. He took out a quarter and handed it to me. The surrounding kids expected me to back off and thought I wouldn't expect a quarter to be handed to me. I pretended to hesitate and slowly lifted the quarter to my mouth. Slowly I put my teeth around the quarter and pulled my mouth away leaving a bite mark. My friends eyes widened and just stared. Someone in the background said "How the heck did you do that!" I acted as if the quarter was sour, then I spit the piece right back on, everyone when nuts, I then said, "Even your lunch isn't worth eating this" and I handed him his quarter.
Score:
This effect is completely mind blowing and will leave spectators clueless. Although it does take a tiny bit of practice, it's very easy in front of a mirror. I give it a 5 out of 5. And I give the difficulty a 2/10 depending on the method you choose, (ellusionist, or your own). Overall its a great effect.
Conclusion:
Buy it...No questions asked, worth every penny. This one effect will be sure to make people remember you for a long time. And it's not just a coin bite, there's a couple of other effects you can do, one including a coin through bottle effect that can be done with any bottle, but that trick requires a little more practice than coin bite.
SCORE-----5/5 (BUY IT)----DIFFICULTY 2/10 (Can be done by most people magician or not)
Coin Bite
Hey guys,
The Coin Bite is one of the greatest investments I have made. Its something that anyone (new or pro) can use and put into their routine for amazing reactions.
You can purchase the Coin Bite with an instructional video (a little over 4 mins long) featuring none other then Brad... This is a GREAT video teaching you a little about misdirection direction and performance tips using the Coin Bite. In the video he goes over a switch and how to make it as convincing as possible. I wish however he went over some of the other effects using the gimmicked coin but it was still worth every penny.... or quarter.
I'll give the instructional video a 8/10
The coin itself is SO well made there is even a warning to not keep this in the same pocket as your other change becuase it's easy to confuse the two. This coin holds together so well you can flip it, do a coin roll, or some other little flourish without the fear of someone noticing that you have a gimmick.
I can't give the coin gimmick less then a 9/10
Also with the coin come's a little four page (I believe) booklet with the title "Snack Time". This booklet goes over some of the other effects the gimmicked coin can perform, such as coin in bottle ect... Also this book will give you a little extra creativity to creat your own effects using the gimmick so you don't think this is a one trick pony!
I give the booklet an 8/10
Reactions with the coin bite are incredible. I've had people scream, laugh and just stare at me. This is something kids and adults can love to see as well, It not just for one set of people. If you notice your audiance responding to coins DO IT! and you will see some great reactions.
The other day I performed this for a co-worker and he sat there staring at the quarter no knowing what happend. He was speachless and confused (my favorit reaction because the screaming haha)
Reactions get a 9/10
This trick is easy and quick to learn. I don't really know what else to say about it's ease of performance.
Over all This is an amazing gimmick that can allow for some amazing things to happen. I urge any serious magician to buy this and play with it as much as possible. Don't pass this up becuase you feel uncomfortable handling a gimmick, just practice infront of a mirror and you will have this in no time... It's easy, fun and looks great..
Over all I give it a 9/10 (I don't really ever give out 10's)
