Customer Reviews
Good Speakers, Good Kick, Annoying Buzz
They're very good speakers, and the woofer has a strong kick if you want it. The dock for the iPod or mp3 player is nice.
However, there is a little bit of a limit on the cord length as the speakers are connected directly to the woofer and each other. But that is no problem compared to the buzzing sound. It is loud and obnoxious without music playing at a decent level, and even then, it is noticeable. Also, there is an additional hum if the speakers are at a low volume or a high volume, so you have to try to hit the right volume on the wheel, then adjust on your computer/mp3 player.
In short, good, loud, effective, but the hum and buzz are terrible. I probably should have returned them.
Nice
the speakers sound amazing for how cheap they are. there is sometimes a bit of static that comes from them, but it usually lasts a minute or less and then goes away. i'm not sure why they do this, but other than that, the speakers are great.
Good Value
I bought these to go with a new computer when my old Altecs suddenly died. I didn't realize how pitiful those speakers in the monitor really were until I played some of my favorite music files. All I wanted was something that would play my music, occasional DVDs or even games without sounding tinny and that would take some advantage of my sound card. These speakers were a good bargain, easy to set up & they do sound very nice. I have a good stereo elsewhere so these do not need to do more than work with my computer. Have not used the ipod cradle since that was not my purpose but it did come with several adapters for various players. Subwoofer sounds great under the desk - good vibration during a game. I do notice occasional buzzing sounds but not often & nothing to complain about - it's not like I paid a lot, is it?
