Customer Reviews
Trust No One
I almost never write product reviews. But I have found this product to be the complete opposite of what many(most) of the reviews here describe.
I have owned numerous headsets for phone use, both wired and cordless. I have had several different bluetooth headsets. My first bluetooth headset was one of those "on the ear" types which are so popular. I think they are all about looks and no function. To me they are pretentious. I believe one reviewer used the adjective "Hollywood" to describe them. I used that one briefly and then discarded it. I then obtained the Jabra BT500. That was the first headset I found to be pleasant to use, functional, and not just a gimmick. When I saw the BT5020 I thought it looked like a great upgrade. Then I read all the negative reviews here and had second thoughts. But, in the end, I followed my own instincts and trusted no one and bought one. Boy am I glad I did! The build-quality of this piece is superb. The matte black finish, angles and lines make it very sleek and gorgeous! It is so comfortable you will probably forget it's there after a period of time! It is smaller and lighter than my BT500.
I am not sure what all these reviews are about the poor sound-quality and reception. I have absolutely no interference or static whatsoever on incoming calls. In fact, it is crystal clear, even more so than using the phone itself! I have never had anyone even realized I was using a hands-free device. My wife is the most astute. She always complains about the sound quality and "echo-like" effect of my bluetooth sets. With this one she doesn't even know I am using it.
The only possible negative I can think of would be the rubber piece that fits in the ear canal seems kind of flimsy. And I wish they made different sizes.
But, in summary, if you are considering buying your first bluetooth headset you cannot go wrong with this one. If you are thinking about upgrading you will be amazed at what you've been missing once you try the Jabra BT5020. Highly recommended!!
Good looks -- Terrible performance! get at 250V
Longtime user of Jabra BT200 with two years of great use -- most of time people didn't know I was on a Bluetooth. Thought the BT5020 better looks and better claim of wind resistance was a great upgrade. Big mistake. More wind noise, and constant buzzing on the line. Constant "What did you say?" from the moment of use from anyone I called. New ear style is comfortable, but the darn thing does not lock and rotates every time you put it on. I have replaced with a Jabra BT250V, the replacement for my old model -- Back to great sound on both ends.
Sorry to see Jabra sound quality bad on the new model, but stick with the 250V!
Love this Headset, but It's Easily Breakable
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2PIV5Z4B11TIT I'm a fan of the Jabra 5020 headset -- it fits very well and comfortably around my ear and I've enjoyed good reception when connected to both my Treo 680 and iPhone. But I've gone through two models, and both have broken. The earpiece seems to be the weak link in this headset, as it's broken twice in my pocket (from not very rough treatment).
